With access to the internet it is easier than ever to find sweepstakes and giveaways that you can enter online, especially because of websites like Sweeps-Takes that list them all in one place. In many cases it takes only a few clicks and a little information to enter as many sweepstakes as possible in a single day. But because they are so quick and easy to enter it also means you are competing with hundreds, if not thousands, of other people to win a single prize. With this guide, I will show you how you can give yourself a competitive advantage, so you can beat out your competition to win that coveted free prize, whatever it may be.
Enter Only What You Want To Win
With the sheer number of sweepstakes available to enter online, it can easily become overwhelming, especially since beginners feel like they should enter every sweepstakes they come across to increase their chance of winning. What they may not realize is that it is not about quantity, it is about entering to win prizes that you actually want to win. After all, what is the point of winning Kanye West concert tickets, if you are a Taylor Swift fan?
Follow The Official Sweepstakes Rules
Following the official sweepstakes rules is the most important part of entering online giveaways. If you are entering wrong, all of your hard work would be for nothing. Reading and following the rules could also give you an advantage, because the rules will tell you all the possible ways you can enter and how often you can enter.
Enter the Sweepstakes As Often As Possible
Many sweepstakes will allow you to enter more than once, or in more than one way. So if your competition only enters a giveaway once and you enter it ten times, you have an obvious advantage over them. You need to check the rules to find out just how many times you can enter, and also if you can come back and enter daily, weekly or monthly. All those extra entries and the extra time spent, could help you become the winner
Stick to a schedule to increase your chances of winning
Sticking to a schedule can ensure that you don’t miss a giveaway and that you enter daily, weekly, and monthly sweepstakes as often as the rules permit. One way to do this is to visit Sweeps-Takes daily and enter the new sweepstakes that have been added that day. This will pretty much guarantee that you don’t miss a giveaway and that you don’t enter a single-entry giveaway more than once. During this time you can also take note of daily, weekly, and monthly sweepstakes or add them to your favorites so you can enter them as much as possible as well. For those giveaways, I would recommend picking a day of the week that you will use to enter weekly and monthly giveaways. Again, this is to ensure that you don’t break the rules by entering the sweepstakes more than you are allowed.
Use the correct contact information
I know none of us like to give out our personal information to total strangers, but if you want to receive that winner’s notification, it is something you are going to have to get over. One way to help eliminate some of that extra mail you will receive after signing up for hundreds of sweepstakes, is to use a separate email address that you will use only for sweepstakes. What I actually do is separate my main email address with a ‘period’ and filter all email pointing to that address into a separate folder.
So if your main email address is billybob(at)gmail.com, oftentimes you can change it to billy.bob(at)gmail.com, or billyb.ob(at)gmail.com and it will still make it into your inbox. Then you can add a filter to those ‘new’ addresses that can automatically separate them and place them in a new folder.
This is how I am sure to check my sweepstakes emails daily without having to use a whole new email account. Then after a while of getting junk mail, you can bulk delete the unwanted email, and start the whole process over again.
You will win it all, right?
Well, not really. Though these tips can help improve your chances of winning, you still have the greater chance of not winning. So the best thing you can do is to stay positive and keep a good attitude. Don’t think of the whole process as work or as a daily job, think of it as a fun hobby. If you try to have fun, you might just have some fun.
Stay tuned for part two, which will be filled with even more tips and tricks that will help you win those sweepstakes and giveaways.
